New Cwrt Sart Website is up and running!

This is the new website for Cwrt Sart Comprehensive. The school offers an enriching experience for its pupils, helping them to develop all of the skills that they will need throughout life - aiming to educate the pupil on a personal and academic level.

New Mosaics

A series of mosaics were completed as part of the Cwrt Sart end of summer Cultural / sporting events. The Art Department decided to complete a series of mosaics that represented Cwrt Sart and its feeder primary schools
including Melyn Juniors, Ynysmaerdy, Llansawel and Brynhyfryd. Pupils from these schools attended Cwrt Sart in order to develop the mosaics as well as using this experience to help them feel more at ease during the transition from primary to comprehensive school. Each mosaic demonstrates a different facet of life in Briton Ferry and the Melyn areas and includes a respective school badge accompanied by a physical feature of the locality. Each design is adorned with a celtic style band.
The mosaics will be displayed on the outside of the school building so that they will enhance an already aesthetically pleasing environment for the pupils of the school to enjoy.
Mr Lyndon Evans, Head of Art said " the finished result was absolutelysuperb demonstrating a long and close relationship between Cwrt Sart and its feeder primary schools ".

Cwrt Sart celebrate excellent GCSE results again !

Huw Lloyd, headteacher, said:

"Cwrt Sart pupils and staff were celebrating on Thursday when  51% of  its year 11 students gained  at least 5A*-C grades. This equals the schools best ever performance, and places the school in benchmarking group 1".

"These are outstanding results and shows that the school continues to go from strength to strength.  I am particularly pleased that the number of passes gained in the core subjects rose, and the number of pupils gaining As and A* rose in a similar fashion."
