DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD SUCCESSDuke of Edinburgh

17 pupils attended the presentation of this year's awards at the Princess Royal Theatre, Port Talbot. This year Cwrt Sart were presented with 11 silver and 6 bronze awards which were all extremely well deserved. The 'graduates' had completed their expedition in almost unbearable weather conditions on the Gower, with temperatures reaching nearly 30 degrees!

Pupils and Parents showed their appreciation for the guidance, support and hard work put into the scheme by Mr. and Mrs Keen enabling their children to achieve success. The current group will complete their expedition during July.

16 pupils sucessfully took part in the annual Keilder Challenge competition at Margan Park which required then to work as a team to plan, perform and evaluate five challenges

BE THE BESTArmy Day Picture

Cwrt Sart has excellent and longstanding links with the Army Careers Service and we are grateful particularly to Major P. Rees for the opportunities presented to our pupils. The whole of Year 10 recently experienced army life for a day in Margam Park while Year 9 pupils took part in the Annual Military Challenge. They performed exceptionally well in a series of mental and physical challenges against older teams to be placed 2nd overall, qualifying for the Welsh Final in Carmarthen, where they again completed strongly.

Major Rees has also given presentations on interview techniques to Year 11 and an "Introduction to Work" programme to Year 10.
